Earring Directory Community Guidelines

Earring Directory is a platform designed for people and businesses who have an interest in handcrafted and locally made earrings from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, USA, Canada, and UK.

It is expected that any person who creates a profile on earringdirectory.com has a connection with the earring community in one of these local countries, whether that be as a business selling earrings they have made or that have been produced locally, or as someone who enjoys wearing earrings and purchasing from local earring businesses. In short, it is expected that if you set up a profile on Earring Directory – you have an association either personally or professionally to the local earring community. If you don’t like earrings, then Earring Directory isn’t for you.

There are currently two profile options available on Earring Directory – a personal profile for Earring Lovers and a Business Profile for earring businesses. It is preferred that you only create one profile that best matches your connection to the earring community.

Earring Businesses may not create an Earring Lover profile with the intention to use it for business purposes and vice versa – a non business should not create an Earring Business profile if they are not a business.

Earring Business profiles should be kept up to date. Earring Styles, Themes, Materials, Payment options and services you offer should all be correct and if you make changes (e.g stop offering a particular style of earring) to your business products then you need to update this information as soon as possible.

Profiles which appear to misrepresent themselves will be removed without warning. IP addresses may be blocked for continual misuse of profiles. Just do the right thing and be honest when you create your profile. If you have a business and want to have a separate personal profile, you can set up more than one profile if you have more than one email address – you just can’t be logged in to both at the same time.

Using a profile to spam others and create posts unrelated to the earring community is not what Earring Directory is about and you should expect your profile to be reported and removed if you participate outside of our community guidelines.

Photos & Posts:

Earring Directory allows businesses to advertise their earrings and earring products to people who genuinely love this type of product and for earring lovers to share their own love of earrings and earring products.

Earring Directory allows all users to post earring related content as images, links and text. Non-business profiles (Earring Lovers) cannot post images on their wall, however they can post links to earring related images and the content will appear on the post as a preview.

If a non-business profile appears to be posting as a business profile, they will have their profile removed so make sure you’ve selected the right profile relevant to you.

Earring Businesses can post earring related images to their wall. Don’t spam your followers with content. Don’t share content that isn’t relevant to earrings. Necklaces, Brooches and rings are pretty – but they’re not earrings and unless you post them as a part of a collection that includes earrings or they are advertised as a part of a matching set, non-earring related images don’t belong on Earring Directory. Please note that more than 2 images posted per hour may be deemed as spam. No more than 10 images per day should be shared. If you have a large number of images you want to share, please add these to your photo album tab and share a link to the album in your post.

If you post too many images your profile may be locked for a period of time or removed from Earring Directory altogether.

Share only earring related photos and videos that you’ve taken or have the right to share.

Remember to post authentic earring content, and don’t post anything you’ve copied or collected from the Internet that you don’t have the right to post.

If there’s something you don’t like in a comment on one of your posts, you can delete that comment.

Hashtags should be relevant to the earring community. Hashtags which are not relevant or have no relationship to the content posted may be removed.

Follow the law:

We may work with law enforcement, including when we believe that there’s risk of physical harm or threat to public safety.

If you are a business, make sure you are following all the laws of your applicable country. Earring Directory is not a selling platform and does not process any payments or receive any commissions from exchanges of services between buyers and sellers of earrings or earring products. If you are making a purchase from a business listed on Earring Directory, it is between you and the seller. Earring Directory won’t get involved in payment disputes.

Be authentic and kind:

We want Earring Directory to be a positive and fun place for earring lovers and businesses to hang out together! Being respectful and kind and engaging in meaningful earring related interactions is the name of the game.

Help Earring Directory stay spam-free by not posting repetitive comments or content, or repeatedly contacting people for commercial purposes without their consent.

Don’t play the follow, un-follow game here. The purpose of the follow feature is to see relevant content from people and businesses you enjoy to appear on your newsfeed. You follow what you love, so you see more of it on your newsfeed! Others follow you to see more of you on their newsfeed! Simples!

If you have had a bad experience with an Earring Business, please consider contacting the business before leaving 1, 2 or 3 star review. Reviews that appear to be malicious in nature will be removed.

You don’t have to use your real name on Earring Directory, but we do require our users to provide us with accurate and up to date information. Don’t impersonate others and don’t create accounts for the purpose of violating our guidelines or misleading others.
